DNA and Proteins 

Key Ideas:

  • Organization of DNA in chromosomes in eukaryote cells

  • Genes store the genetic information the cells need to produce polypeptides and thus proteins

  • Describe how 3 bases called a codon in mRNA code for 1 amino acid

  • Describe and illustrate the process of protein synthesis through transcription and translation

The video on the right explains homologous chromsomes and the difference between haploid and diploid.

The video goes for 8 minutes but only the first 4mins and 40seconds is part of this topic. After that it goes onto some things we are covering later in the semester.
